Night of Meteors and End of Season Party

Saturday August 15th 2026, 9 PM to 12 PM

On the Night of Meteors countless lanterns are lit in the Old Yard, as we enjoy the soft August night and watch the shooting stars together.

As the August nights get darker, the lanterns are lit on the Riimukivi Historical Farm to celebrate the end of the Summer Season. The Old Yard is magical by firelight, delicious treats are roasted on open fire and hot beverages are steaming on the fire table.

At the Riimukivi Farm city lights do not overshadow the brilliance of the starry nights. Even though the sky does not get fully dark until late August, the warm summer night is a great time to watch the meteor showers and admire the summer night sky before the winter constellations take over the night sky.

August Meteor Showers

The second week of August coincides with the peak of the largest meteor shower, the Perseids. At the same time, the Delta Aquariids and Kappa Cygnids add their streaks of light to the sky, and it is possible to see up to 60 shooting stars per hour.

Make yourself Comfortable

Bring your own blanket, camp chair, or sleeping pad, so you can comfortably lie on the lawn gazing at the sky. â€‹Remember that the night might get chilly even if the day is warm.

You can also bring your own travel mug, if you prefer to avoid disposable cups.

Riimukivi Yule Market and
19th Century Christmas Fair

December 5th 2026, 1 PM to 6 PM

Christmas at Riimukivi Farm is full of magic. Light from the lanterns plays on the old log walls and the scent of fir branches fills the hall. In the snow covered yard, fire light illuminates the fading winter day and hot delicacies steam in the fire pit.

Many local artisans and farms bring their goods to the Riimukivi Yule Market and the stalls are filled with skillful crafts, delicious Christmas treats, and locally made gifts for Santa's sack and Christmas table.

In the snow covered courtyard, you can enjoy a cup of traditional Glögi, a hot spiced drink, and grilled delicacies by the roaring fire: delicious Riimukivi stew, which has been cooked overnight in the large stone oven, traditional rice porridge with cinnamon, gravlax on rye bread, and a nice, thick slice of date cake with ginger jam and cardamom cream.

Riimukivi Yule Market is open Saturday, December 5th, 2026, 1 PM to 6 PM

You are warmly welcome!
